Supporting refugees
To date, more than 2.5 million Ukrainians have been displaced by the invasion, living in extremely precarious conditions, and facing uncertain futures.
Universities in Eastern Europe, especially in Southern Poland, have offered displaced people lodging, food and assistance.
Universities in other countries could make similar offers and encourage their communities to take in refugees where possible, to help share the burden to care.
While the immediate impact is being felt in Ukraine’s neighbours, preparing to take in refugees further afield will be a priority in the upcoming future.
This is a conflict that will spread Ukrainians far across UK communities.
