‘The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) has been collaborating with Charles Cormack Consulting Ltd. for a number of years and, throughout our dealings with the company and its staff, it has been a thoroughly positive experience. Like many internationally-focussed universities, our International Partnerships team receives numerous leads in the Transnational Education (TNE) sphere every week. In terms of working with a TNE consultancy, the question is then asked as to what additional value it can bring to the organisation. The answer in relation to our work with CCC Ltd is consistency, both in terms of support provided to the team and in the viability of the proposals presented to us. The team at CCC Ltd bring potential partners to the University who have been counselled in the different models of collaboration, realistic fee structures and lead in times for realisation of partnerships. In short, it allows us to use our resources more effectively by saving the team time and progressing discussions to the serious stage much more quickly than if we had approached potential partners ourselves.
In terms of day to day interactions, the Company is very flexible. Travel is obviously a disruptive factor for both our own team and the potential partner institutions but Charles and his team are extremely responsive in negotiating mutually convenient meeting times and setting these up. We receive written summaries of the meetings and, most importantly in a very busy office, gentle reminders of outstanding actions in relation to current projects. Our conversations are frank and open and an honest assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of the potential partner in terms of the fit for our organisation is always given. UCLan has set up partnerships through our work with CCC Ltd and continue to collaborate on new potential partnerships.’
